We are thrilled to announce that Silverlining Furniture has been shortlisted for two highly coveted awards at the 2025 Boat Artistry and Craft Awards. These nominations celebrate not only the exceptional talent within our workshop but also our ongoing commitment to innovation and craftsmanship in the world of luxury furniture and yacht interiors.

Emerging Artisan of the Year: Poppy Pawsey

Our first nomination, for Emerging Artisan of the Year, recognises the remarkable achievements of Poppy Pawsey, whose journey embodies resilience and passion. Poppy joined Silverlining Furniture in February 2023, transitioning from a career as a Royal Marines Military Band musician to mastering the intricate art of marquetry. Despite starting with no prior experience in furniture-making, Poppy quickly excelled, contributing to high-profile projects like the bespoke games table for the superyacht Kismet, for which she was nominated.

Poppy’s journey is not only one of personal transformation but also a testament to the power of craftsmanship to inspire and heal. Her work reflects a dedication to precision, sustainability, and innovation. She has become an integral part of our marquetry team, leading projects that showcase her growing expertise and creative vision.

Outstanding Collaboration: Chinoiserie Marquetry Panels

The second nomination is for Outstanding Collaboration, recognising our team’s work on a series of 29 exquisite chinoiserie marquetry panels designed for the wardrobe and bathroom areas of the master suite of the 122-metre yacht Kismet. This project brought together Silverlining’s artisans, engineers, and Reymond Langton’s interior design team, blending traditional motifs of flora and cranes with modern materials like Dubai gold metallised resin and cracked black resin.

Over 14 months, our team painstakingly crafted these panels, which feature intricate designs seamlessly applied to both flat and curved surfaces. The project pushed the boundaries of traditional marquetry by incorporating advanced techniques like laser cutting and custom lamination. The result is a stunning fusion of old-world elegance and contemporary craftsmanship, showcasing Silverlining’s ability to meet the demands of even the most complex luxury commissions.

These nominations highlight the heart of what makes Silverlining Furniture unique: our dedication to preserving traditional techniques while embracing modern innovations. Whether it is the inspiring story of Poppy’s rise as a marquetarian or the collaborative effort behind the chinoiserie panels, our work reflects a relentless pursuit of excellence.

We are honoured to stand among the finalists for these prestigious awards and look forward to the results at the 2025 Boat Artistry and Craft Awards.
