‘Can It Be Done?’A new book celebrating four decades of boundary-pushing design

Since our founding in 1985, one question has guided everything we do: Can it be done?

It is a question our clients ask when they come to us with bold visions and uncompromising expectations. It is also the question our makers ask themselves as they explore materials, test limits, and turn the improbable into the exceptional.

In spring 2026, we will publish a new book titled with the same question, Can It Be Done? to mark Silverlining’s 40th anniversary. Part memoir, part manifesto, it is a tribute to the people who shape our world, from the visionary collectors and designers who push us forward to the master makers who bring each idea to life.

Spanning four decades of projects and partnerships, the book captures how our belief in craftsmanship, experimentation, and trust has forged a legacy of innovation. Alongside personal reflections from founder Mark Boddington, readers will find behind-the-scenes glimpses into some of our most ambitious commissions, from engineering challenges on board yachts to technical breakthroughs in rare materials.

As always, the process has mirrored the way we work, collaborative, meticulous, and driven by the desire to create something enduring. Can It Be Done? is more than a look back, it is a reflection on what drives us forward.

The official release will take place in spring 2026, accompanied by a series of events and selected discussion panels designed to spark conversation around craft, innovation, and the future of design. We look forward to sharing more with you soon!
