Silverlining at Sotheby’s

London Craft Week 2026

This May, Silverlining will showcase their innovative leatherwork techniques at Sotheby’s during London Craft Week.

The exhibition will showcase the finest leather craftsmanship through the works on display: The Wave Console, Ripple Mirror, and Chroma Mirror - all from Studio SL’s inaugural collectible design collection - alongside live demonstrations of the leather techniques such as hand-stacked cording, hydraulic moulding, and hand-painted surface work.

Visitors will see how salvaged leather offcuts are hand-applied and spokeshaved to create the Wave Console's surface, how leather hides are soaked, pressed and moulded into form for the Chroma Mirror's sculptural silhouette, and how hand finishing techniques such as hand-chasing, texturing and surface tooling bring depth and movement to the Ripple Mirror.

The pieces will be on display at Sotheby's, New Bond Street, London, 11-17 May 2026. The craftsmanship demonstrations will take place on Saturday 16 May from 3.00 to 3.30 pm.

Laetitia Contat Desfontaines, Head of Strategy and Business Development at Silverlining, said “For us, the value of a piece lies as much in how it is made as in what it becomes. London Craft Week allows us to show that openly. Showing this work at Sotheby’s feels particularly fitting, as it places it in a context where objects are looked at with a high level of attention and understanding. While these pieces are produced in limited numbers, they are driven by a simple intention: to explore what can be achieved when craftsmanship is pushed without compromise.”
